WENATCHEE — Shauna Field has joined the board of directors of the Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center as it begins serving Okanogan County. Field previously spent 14 years on the board of the Dispute Resolution Center of Okanogan County and worked for 10 years as office manager for the county prosecutor’s office.
Field was born and raised in Okanogan County. The Wenatchee center said her familiarity with the county and her experience on its dispute resolution board will help guide the transition and keep services accessible to residents. The Wenatchee center also serves Chelan and Douglas counties.
The center offers mediation, conflict resolution education and other community resources. In mediation, a neutral person helps those involved in a dispute talk through their concerns and look for an agreement they can reach together. The center also offers education to help people develop skills they can use when disagreements arise in their own lives.
In announcing the appointment, the center said Field has a particular interest in supporting people in underserved communities. The center said she sees board leadership as a way to support services that help people work through disagreements and build relationships in their communities.
The center said Field looks forward to supporting its work across all three counties. Her appointment brings experience in both public administration and oversight of a community dispute resolution center to the board as it takes on a larger service area.
