Give NCW Turkey Trot returns to Wenatchee on Thanksgiving

Posted

WENATCHEE — The Community Foundation of North Central Washington will host its fourth annual Give NCW Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26, along the Wenatchee riverfront, raising money for nonprofit organizations throughout the region.

The event will feature a timed 5K run and walk, a timed 10K run and a free Kids Fun Run near Pybus Public Market. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome.

The Turkey Trot marks the beginning of Give NCW, the foundation's annual online giving campaign, which is entering its 11th year. The campaign connects donors with nearly 100 nonprofit organizations serving communities across North Central Washington.

"The Turkey Trot is a fun Thanksgiving tradition, but it's also an invitation," said Thom Schroeder, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Community Foundation of NCW. "Whether someone runs, walks, volunteers, cheers on a family member, or makes their first donation through Give NCW, the event is just one way people can participate in supporting the communities they call home."

Since the Turkey Trot began in 2023, participants have helped raise more than $88,000 through registration fees, supporting 121 nonprofit organizations throughout the region, according to the foundation.

All registration fees will benefit the Give NCW Give to All Fund and participating nonprofit organizations, with event sponsors covering associated costs.

This year's presenting sponsor is Wenatchee Valley Medical Group, with Cordell Neher & Company and Cashmere Valley Bank serving as gold sponsors. Pybus Public Market & Charitable Foundation is also supporting the event.

Crunch Pak, Mela Coffee Roasting and Firehouse Pet Shop will provide in-kind donations, including apple snacks, coffee, hot chocolate, dog bandanas and items for Kids Fun Run participants.

The event will also include a group costume contest for families, friends, coworkers and other participants. Selected groups will receive Giving Cards that can be redeemed as donations to participating nonprofits through Give NCW.

The Community Foundation of NCW serves Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties. Established in 1986, the foundation manages $189 million in assets across more than 600 funds and has awarded more than $92 million in grants and scholarships.

Registration, volunteer information and race details are available at cfncw.org/turkeytrot.
