WENATCHEE — Two North Central Washington hospitals have been honored by the American Heart Association for their work in improving outcomes for patients with heart disease and stroke.
Confluence Health’s Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee and Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster were among 54 Washington hospitals recognized this year through the association’s Get With The Guidelines® initiative, which promotes up-to-date, research-based treatment protocols. The program is aimed at ensuring patients receive swift, evidence-based care for heart disease and stroke, which are the No. 2 and No. 5 causes of death in the state.
“Every 40 seconds, someone in America has a stroke or heart attack,” said Susie Woo, M.D., FACC, cardiologist and board president of the American Heart Association in Washington. “High-quality care should be accessible to all and sites awarded through the Get With The Guidelines program help work toward our shared vision of health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Congratulations to these teams for their hard work and commitment to improving patient care in Washington.”
Nationwide, more than 4,800 hospitals participate in the Get With The Guidelines® program. Recognition is based on consistent adherence to treatment guidelines in areas including stroke, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation.
